US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said that Bitcoin will have a “unique” status and will be treated separately from all cryptocurrencies in the strategic crypto reserve.
According to him, President Donald Trump believes that there should be a strategic reserve of bitcoin, and details of this initiative will be presented at the crypto summit on March 7 at the White House.
The summit will be chaired by «crypto czar» David Sachs and Bo Hines, director of Trump’s digital asset task force. The president is reportedly set to address representatives of the crypto industry.
In addition, the summit plans to discuss issues of industry regulation and regulatory control over stablecoins.
Some major market participants have already confirmed their participation in the summit. Among them are the director of the American exchange Coinbase Brian Armstrong, the co-director of the platform Creak Arjun Sethi, Co-Founder chainlink Sergey Nazarov, founder of Strategy Michael Saylor, head of crypto wallet developer Exodus JP Richardson and other famous people.
Let us recall that on March 2, Donald Trump instructed the working group to consider the issue of creating a state reserve that would include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) XRP company Ripple, Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA).
