Miner MARA Reports 12% Decrease in Bitcoin Production

One of the world’s leaders in the Bitcoin industry reported a noticeable decrease in block production in January of this year. According to , this figure has decreased by 12% compared to December 2024. Then the company mined 249 bitcoins, thanks to which the miner’s BTC assets grew to 44 coins by the end of last year.

MARA Holdings CEO Fred Thiel said the drop was due to increased network complexity and intermittent outages. However, industry data show that in January hashrate The company’s turnover remained at the same level as in December. Not a single new miner was launched during the month.

At the same time, other large mining companies, such as , have, on the contrary, increased their mining volumes since the beginning of the year.

The decrease in the indicator does not prevent MARA Holdings from continuing to modernize its capacities. Thus, since the beginning of the year, the company has transferred most of the equipment at its plant in Texas to immersive cooling. At another plant in the state of Nebraska, MARA is completing the replacement of outdated devices with modern S21 Pro miners.

According to the company, all these innovations will help to increase hashrate, reduce electricity costs and improve equipment efficiency.
