Rosseti has begun studying various options for reloading its capacities through the development of mining. The organization is ready to take on the role of state coordinator in the issue of scaling the energy consumption of the industry.
According to company representatives, the mining infrastructure is of interest because it could help stimulate demand in centers where energy capacity is underutilized.
Rosseti emphasized that by scaling the mining industry, it will be possible to increase tariff revenue several times and use the resulting income to modernize networks in individual regions.
The company already has done a request to the Prime Minister of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin to study the possibility of granting additional powers to coordinate the placement of mining centers in Russian regions.
In addition, the state holding indicated that they have all the appropriate technical capabilities to control electricity consumption and are able to flexibly manage the load of facilities engaged in cryptocurrency mining.
Earlier, Rosseti had already proposed introducing differentiated electricity tariffs for companies involved in digital asset mining, depending on the volume of consumption.
